Welcome to InsuranceExplained.org

Where we concentrate on the Key Topics of insurance.

All materials on this site are written by current and former insurance professionals across the industry.   We write ONLY about the most important things that insurance consumers and agents should be aware of. We refer to it as Key Point Education. It gives you – the reader a quick way to grasp the most important aspects of the topic. Once you see what interests you, we can help you get more detailed information.

Key Point Education:

All insurance customers have slightly different needs. In insurance, almost everything can be added or modified as an option. This is why it is so hard to create generalized examples, to portray how something works and for that example to be relatable.  This is the reason for educating by key points. From time to time, consumers and agents alike need a clear cut refresher on the subject, to find out the most important facts, without having to Google for answers and then dig through tons of results with a lot of irrelevant information.

“Education is not about information, it’s about transformation.”

What separates an insurance agent from a knowledgeable field underwriter?

Difference is the word: KNOWLEDGE. Knowledge expands our capabilities and grows our arsenal of useful life tools. If the agent does not learn about the options offered outside their agency – this is not an agent you want to work with.

While an average agent might use predetermined sales scripts, to sell the products with the highest commission rates, knowledgeable insurance agent/underwriter  can help the client identify their needs, and then suggest proper tools to fulfill those needs.

Ask your agent tough questions and make sure that she knows her stuff.  If not, look for an agent with a broader knowledge base.

Our goals are to:

  • Present information in an easy to read and relatable style
  • Educate consumers and agents about the most important facts of insurance products.
  • Explain insurance industry from the insider’s view, concentrating on what is MOST important for a consumer to know.

  • Explain the types of agents and how they differ.
  • Dispel any possible myths about  insurance industry and specific products.
  • Provide a teaching platform for knowledgeable insurance professionals.
  • Connect people with insurance professionals possessing the knowledge they seek.
